About Quinn

I graduated from the University of Washington with a Masters of Arts in Applied Child and Adolescent Psychology: Prevention and Treatment program and have been delighted to be serving youth and families in King County ever since. I am a queer-identifying therapist and enjoy working with clients with a range of identities and lived experiences. Outside of my clinicial work, I love spending time outdoors with my dogs, writing, and messy art projects!

While pursuing my undergraduate degree at Western Washington University (WWU), I began volunteering at Lydia Place, a shelter for mothers and children in Whatcom County. I expected the shelter to be a somber environment, but I was quickly proven wrong. During my shift each Thursday, a group of young children gathered to play—smiling, laughing, playing tag—resilient and full of life.

One afternoon, I held a 12-month-old girl in my arms. I hadn’t spent much time around babies, so I was captivated. At the same time, I was taking a child development course and learning about the rapid brain growth and cognitive development that happens in the first years of life. Holding her, I realized: this was someone living that very experience. In that moment, I knew I wanted to work with young people.

From there, I continued volunteering with children. I served in emergency shelters for foster children (Skookum Kids and Amara), and helped with the Whatcom Dispute Resolution Center’s Youth Peace Poetry Contest. I was honored to hold more babies, talk through more tantrums, and read some truly clever, thoughtful poems.

After graduating from WWU with a B.A. in Psychology and a B.A. in Creative Writing, I began working as a therapeutic preschool teacher at Childhaven, a nonprofit dedicated to preventing childhood trauma and strengthening families. There, my passion for working with young children deepened, and I developed an even greater respect for the commitment and love caregivers show every day. It was also at Childhaven that I met several child mental health therapists—and realized that becoming one was the next step on my path.

My approach is collaborative and evidence-based. I support my clients and their families with effective therapeutic strategies so they can work towards the positive changes they want to see in their own lives. I use cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT) and evidence-based parent coaching in my work with clients, all of which are well-researched and effective tools for helping individuals and families meet their goals.

I want my clients and their families to feel heard, valued, and supported throughout our time together. I respect my clients as the experts on their own experiences and want therapy to be a place they can bring their whole selves. Your values, identities, ideas, and goals shape the work we do together. I look forward to connecting with you!
